Life Lately

So, I don't always get to keep up with my blog as much as I thought I would try to, but such is life. Things have been a little busy and a little crazy lately. As for the busy, I took a trip to the beach to visit my family and get in a little bit of beach time before the cold weather officially settled in. We had a good time (as always) and now I am rested and ready for the approaching Holidays.
Oliver hit 6 months right before our beach get away and had his 6 month doctors appointment, Home boy is a beast. Here are his stats; height: 28 inches (92nd percentile) weight; 19 lbs (80th percentile) and head size; (67th percentile, i never pay attention to the actual measurements ... my bad).

Now enter the crazy; the night I got back from the beach our Morono's timing belt kicked it so instead of dropping quite a bit of cash we currently dont have to spend, we decided to jump start our intentions of buying another car. After a grueling day of dealerships, pushy salesmen and not such good deals, we found our new car. We ended up finding our 2011 volkswagen Jetta at Carmax and got a pretty good deal if I do say so.

So now hopefully things will die down a little (after my good friend Ashley's wedding of course) and I can prepare for my favorite time of year.
Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment ... or maybe just mine ;) (in no particular order)
Enjoy!

Family fun day

I love this time of year, but just like every other time of year, it flies by and before I know it it is over and done and Darin and I have yet to do any of the things we planned on doing. So this past Saturday I took it upon myself to Google the closest corn maze to us and go! I am so glad we did.
With Darin's work schedule we hardly ever do fun family stuff and when the weekend does finally roll around he is pretty tired and not too interested in adventures outside the house but since he is a sweetie and he loves me he sucked it up and we went on a mini adventure with Oliver.
The closest farm/maze I could find was Cagle's Family Farm, man that place was hoppin... They had tons of things you could do a farm tour, hay rides, corn maze, Bonfire etc..but unfortunately the farm tours ended at 4pm and we got there a little too late (Oliver would have loved that, that boy is obsessed with the four legged species). So we did a little corn "maize", Darin got his "carnival food" ( funnel cake and popcorn) as he calls it, and we hung out and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. Although we weren't there for a long time, we had so much fun, (I think I can talk Darin into more stuff now). Oliver loved being outside and seeing all the kids running around and the weather was gorgeous. There is definitely nothing like fall in the south. Next year we are going to go to the Woolly Worm Festival in Banner Elk, NC .. Darin has never been and I loved doing that as a kid. Anyway, here are some pictures from our Saturday "adventure". Enjoy!
